Ordering FAQs

Here are our answers to the most frequently asked questions (FAQs). Please contact us if you don't find the answer to your particular question.

1. How should I maintain my new hardware?
With proper care, all of our hardware should provide our customers with years of beauty. Do not use harsh chemicals or cleaners. Use only mild soapy water and then dry the hardware immediately. Most modern finishes should last a lifetime with proper care and maintenance.

2. What materials are your knobs and handles made of?
Most of our knobs and handles comprise brass, zinc, bronze, steel, and other alloys. Some specialty pieces are made of other materials, such as glass or ceramic, as stated in the item descriptions.

3. Do you sell hinges and door knobs for interior and exterior doors?
Yes, we do. Please look in our door hardware section to browse our door hardware and hinges for interior and exterior doors.

4. Do you have a catalog?
Our website is our catalog. We continually grow our product line and constantly update our website to reflect new offerings. Using the web as our catalog allows us to offer you new products virtually overnight without the delays associated with printing and mailing a catalog.

5. Do you have a showroom?
Knobs+More has a beautiful showroom at our headquarters, Knobbery, in Hillsborough, NJ, just 20 minutes from Princeton. We showcase most of the items we sell online and invite you to visit us so our knowledgeable staff can answer all of your decorative hardware questions.

6. How long will it take to get my order?
Most of our items ship from the manufacturer's warehouse within 2 to 3 business days unless otherwise stated on our website. Depending on your location, the items should arrive within APPROXIMATELY 1-2 weeks.

7. Can I return the hardware if I don't like it?
Yes. We accept returns on most items unless they are a special order (please refer to our Return Policy page for a description of non-returnable items). If an item is defective, we will replace the item at our cost. You must call our office before returning any merchandise. No packages will be accepted without an RGA# posted on the package. Any items returned without authorization will be refused. Please our Return Policy for more details.

8. I can't decide between a few pieces. Do you give samples?
Our Sample Policy allows you to purchase up to 3 different items to view in your home. When the items are returned, we will issue a credit towards any future orders. Shipping costs cannot be credited. Please see our Sample Policy page for more details.

9. The screws I received with my cabinet hardware are not long enough for my cabinets. Can you send longer screws?
1" screws are packaged with most of our hardware to accommodate standard 3/4" door fronts. You should be able to find the appropriate metric or 8/32” screw length at your local hardware store. If you require special size screws, please let us know at the time of order by writing a note in the comments section of our order form.

10. I am nervous about entering my credit card information online. Is it safe?
All transactions on Knobs+More are processed through PayPal and are 100% safe. Your sensitive financial information is stored securely on PayPal’s servers and Knobs+More/Knobbery receives payment from PayPal without ever seeing your financial information. For your safety and security, PayPal uses a high level of data encryption. Furthermore, to help safeguard you against identity theft, every PayPal payment is followed by an e-mail confirming your transaction.
